Parachute Infantry Pvt. David Kenyon Webster

Parachute Infantry is a memoir written
by Pvt. David Kenyon Webster, an author, journalist and a
Harvard English literature major who served as a
paratrooper with Easy Company of the 506th PIR, I01 st
Airborne Division. His memoir chronicles what he
witnessed with his own eyes and what his attitude and
thoughts were during the war in greater detail.

Webster creates a vivid image for the reader, thanks to
his detailed descriptions. The imagery of what he
witnessed is so vivid, it almost makes the reader feel
like they are experiencing what he witnessed and felt
with him. Webster’s writing is also witty and honest,
which makes for a compelling story and oftentimes
adds humor to certain situations such as his outward
disdain for Lt. Thomas Peacock. Webster’s memoir also
gives insight into a man who was not only intelligent and
someone who long ago made it a rule of his Army life to
not do anything voluntarily, but a man who never let his
buddies down in combat and a man who sought to
speak the truth .

Parachute Infantry became another one of my favorite
books that I read after reading Band of Brothers and
now I have a greater respect and understanding as to
who Webster was as a person. This is another book to
add to vour book collection. Once vou start readind his
book, you won’t want to put it down.
